Acts 15:36-16:10 - New partner, helper and vision
Welcome everyone - today Ian, Jan, and Christy will be leading us in worship, and Anne will be bringing the message.
The children's service can be found on www.hillsong.co.uk, or go to YouTube: "Hillsong kids online service". It is released each Sunday morning, so do check that it is the most recent post!
With the help of Alan and Nick, we made our first attempt at a live stream of the worship on Friday evening. Some parts worked better than others, and we wanted to share the parts that worked with you so you can get a feel for where we're at. This is why the worship will look like it has been filmed at two locations this week.
OPEN THE EYES OF MY HEART, Lord, Open the eyes of my heart.
I want to see You, I want to see You. (Repeat)
To see You high and lifted up,
Shining in the light of Your glory.
Pour out Your power and love,
As we sing holy, holy, holy.(Repeat)
Holy, holy, holy, Holy, holy, holy, Holy holy holy, I want to see You.
MY JESUS, MY SAVIOUR,
Lord, there is none like You. All of my days I want to praise
The wonders of Your mighty love. My comfort, my shelter,
Tower of refuge and strength, Let every breath, all that I am,
Never cease to worship You.
Shout to the Lord all the earth, let us sing Power and majesty, praise to the King.
Mountains bow down And the seas will roar At the sound of Your name.
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands. Forever I’ll love You, forever I’ll stand.
Nothing compares to the Promise I have in You.
1 THE SPLENDOUR OF THE KING, Clothed in majesty; Let all the earth rejoice,
All the earth rejoice. He wraps Himself in light, And darkness tries to hide, And trembles at His voice, And trembles at His voice.
How great is our God, sing with me, How great is our God, and all will see How great, how great is our God.
2 And age to age He stands, And time is in His hands; Beginning and the end,
Beginning and the end. The Godhead, three in one, Father, Spirit, Son, The Lion and the Lamb, The Lion and the Lamb. Name above all names, Worthy of all praise; My heart will sing: How great is our God.
Intercessory Prayers & Sermon
Reading: Acts 15 v36 -16 v10
You might like to spend a few moments quietly with the Lord at this point, asking him to reveal to you any areas where you need your faith and trust restored in His ability to work those circumstances out for the good of all concerned. Simply ask him to bring them to mind, then make an active choice to hand them over to him.
When trust is low, one of the best ways to bolster it is to take up the weapon of praise. In singing of God's greatness, character, wisdom and love, we not only bless the Lord, but remind ourselves of just who it is that we have given our hearts and lives to. We invite you to turn up the volume, stand wherever you are and join us in singing one of our favourite praise songs:
Garden / Video bible studies
As you meet this week, begin by praying for the Holy Spirit to guide your discussion. Then read Acts 15 v36 -16 v10 and discuss these questions:
1) Can you think of a time when you felt encouraged by a fellow Christian and that has come at exactly the right time for you?
2) How have you dealt with feelings of being let down by someone?
3) Have you experienced a shut door in your life? What happened instead?
4) Can you think of one example in your life when you really didn't know what was going to happen next but you trusted God anyway?

Paul Dennison, from the Bridge Church is collecting for the Food Bank. Sarah and David are still happy to receive food at their home until we are back at church, and even then to organise its delivery to the Bridge. The government has said they will only provide vouchers for the summer and not in future holidays, so Hayling Holiday Lunches will resume when needed.
