FOR THE YOUNG . . .

Lazers
For senior school years 7 up. They engage with many issues facing all young people today, relating to contemporary culture, and are able to learn much from the Bible, helped by Sunday club. This group have great potential to be a cohesive group and effective witnesses for Christ.
Jon White is our recently appointed part-time Youth Worker and he is giving this group a significant part of his time.

Trailblazers
This group of Junior school age (years 3 - 6) follow programmes such as 'ALF' (All about Faith and Life), and a BOB course (Building on Basics) in which the children deepen their faith.

Sparklers
For children years R - 2. They all study the central truths of Christianity in lots of fun ways.

Crèche
We have an "on-call" list system, so that if there are any very young children in church there is someone available for them.

SMALL GROUPS IN HOMES

As a church we have so-called 'Cell' groups. The aim and purpose of these is four-fold:

  • Welcome - to make all feel at home and able to relate to each other in a friendly and non-threatening way.
  • Worship – where the group is led to focus on God, who he is and what he does, with praise and worship. This may take different forms depending on who is leading.
  • Word – sometimes a follow-up discussion of the previous Sunday's sermon, or if more appropriate, a subject from the Bible relating to real life issues.
  • Witness – where we discuss and pray about ways to reach the un-churched and to empower each member to be 'salt & light' in the world.

There are currently 6 weekly home based 'Cell' groups on two evenings of the week, during school term time. UPDATED!

SOME OTHER ACTIVITIES

WALKERS GROUP
Every Monday throughout the year come rain or shine a group from our church venture out for loads of fresh air. Usually over the South Downs covering from the Meon Valley in the west to the Arun valley in the east, from Hayling in the south to just north of the Petersfield I Midhurst A272 road in the north, but sometimes further afield, such as on the Isle of Wight.. The length of the walks is 6- 7 miles. The terrain varies from flat and easy to hilly and exhilarating but they are always enjoyable, no matter what the weather.
Our enthusiastic walkersThe views, flora and fauna change with the seasons and are appreciated by all. This is a great way to combine fresh air, fellowship and to welcome new people into the church community.
